Premier Inn Ross-on-wye Hotel

Super standard premier inn, looks like it could use a bit of love in some places. Saying that, room was perfectly nice, vending machine was stocked and everything clean and tidy. There's not much to do around the area, but on the flip side, having a premier inn out here was super handy for me as a pit stop for work. Lass on reception was super, really friendly, chatty and kind.

This is a bog standard Premier Inn. The staff are nice and friendly. The room was clean and the bed comfortable, giving a good nights sleep. The hairdryer is poor in comparison to what I get at other hotels. It is hot but not very powerful so if you have long hair or difficult hair to dry bring your own. There is no mirror at the desk to sit and do your make up. You can use the bathroom mirror or the one by the hairdryer but they don't work very well because the light is weird so you end up with too much make up on when you go into natural light. I don't think not having air conditioning is good in this day and age, with the infuriating restricted opening windows and with the hot summers we are having. By the morning my room had finally dropped to 23.5 degrees - not pleasant! And this wasn't the hottest weather. Would I come here again? Probably not, because of the lack of air con and also the breakfast at the Beefeater was grim - snotty innards on the poached eggs which were also old eggs (you can tell by the stringy trails of white) and the bacon was like leather. Dinner there was fine and the staff on dinner were great.

Very convenient location just at the start/ end of the M50 motorway. 4 stars for the room only because there’s no air conditioning, but they do pros small (and quiet) fan. There’s no restaurant or bar in the hotel, but it shares a car park with a Beefeater. If you food make sure you ask reception to book a table because it was very busy the evening we ate there and the following morning.

Unfortunately this wasn't one of our best stays at a Premier Inn. The a/c wasn't working albeit two fans in the room. These were not suitable for purpose during the evening whilst trying to sleep making it an uncomfortable two nights. Main light in the bathroom wasn't working. Something housekeeping should have noticed. We felt the room had an unpleasant musty smell. Some guests were very noisy and inconsiderate in the early hours of the morning. Soundproofing is an issue at the hotel. On a positive note, the reception staff were very efficient and friendly.

Lovely place great staff very helpful however the location made it sound like it was very easy to get to. Unfortunately if you don't drive/have a car public transport is very difficult to use and to get there. We managed to make the best of it with a 4yo as well and we loved our stay I'd just advise the person who wrote the description to add that so others don't get the wrong impression like us. Driving wise yes it's not far from town and driving would be amazing
